How do I pause or cancel my subscription?

You can pause or cancel anytime with no penalties or questions asked. You'll have full control in your subscription dashboard, or you can contact us directly. If you need a break, pause it for a month or two—we'll be here when you're ready to resume.

Can I purchase a gift subscription?

Yes. Gift subscriptions are perfect for coffee lovers. You can choose the plan duration, first shipment date, and include a custom message. The recipient gets full control to customize origins and frequency after the gift period ends.

What does the roast date mean?

The roast date tells you exactly when your beans were roasted. We print it on every bag because freshness is critical to flavor. Coffee is at its peak from 3 to 21 days after roasting. The roast date is your guarantee that you're getting beans at their best—not beans sitting in a warehouse for months.

How fresh are the beans when I receive them?

We roast to order and ship within 2–3 business days, so your beans typically arrive 5–7 days after roasting. This puts them right in the sweet spot of the freshness window. Store them in an airtight container away from heat and light, and they'll stay fresh for several weeks.

What grind size should I use?

Grind size depends on your brewing method. For pour-over, use a medium grind (like sea salt). For espresso, go finer (like sand). For French press, use a coarse grind. We recommend buying whole beans and grinding just before brewing for maximum freshness. If you need pre-ground beans, let us know your brewing method when you order, and we'll grind it to spec.

How do I brew pour-over coffee?

Pour-over is simple but intentional. Use medium-ground beans, water heated to 195–205°F, and a 1:16 coffee-to-water ratio (e.g., 20g coffee to 320g water). Wet the filter first, add grounds, pour a small amount of water to "bloom" for 30 seconds, then slowly pour the rest over 2–3 minutes. How long does shipping take?

We ship via USPS Priority Mail. Delivery typically takes 2–5 business days depending on your location. Subscription shipments are scheduled automatically on your chosen date; you'll receive a shipping notification with tracking information 1–2 days before it arrives.

Do you offer free shipping?

Subscriptions include flat-rate shipping (typically $5–7 depending on order weight). Retail purchases of $50 or more qualify for free shipping. For specific shipping costs, just check your cart before checkout—we're transparent about all fees upfront.

What are your cafe hours?

Our Portland cafe is open Tuesday–Sunday, 7 AM–5 PM. We're closed Mondays. Stop by for a pour-over, espresso drink, or to pick up retail bags of beans. You can also see our roasting operation up close and chat with our baristas about origins and brewing.

Can I pick up my subscription order locally?

Yes. If you're in Portland or the metro area, you can pick up your subscription order at the cafe and skip shipping fees. Just let us know when you subscribe, and we'll arrange a pickup time that works for you.

Do you offer wholesale or bulk pricing?
